With over five years of teaching experience and a PhD in linguistics and second language acquisition, our founder has developed an approach rooted in research and enriched by real-world practice. Our Story
Before Milan became my home, I spent years studying how people learn languages, eventually earning a PhD in Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at UCLA. What I discovered later, though, is that real growth comes not only from research but from living, connecting, and finding your voice in a new place.

When I first arrived in Milan, I couldn’t speak a word of Italian. I vividly remember the anxiety of ordering a simple coffee, knowing only what I wanted and how much it cost. Yet the warm and sociable nature of Italians made all the difference. They were eager to chat, especially with someone who stood out, as I certainly did at the time.

Step by step, my Italian improved, and so did my confidence. I discovered one of the most beautiful aspects of language: it grows naturally through people, conversations, and shared moments. The key is to place yourself in situations where you must use the language and embrace the uncertainty. Thanks to my bubbly personality—and the kindness of those around me—I found the courage to practice, and my Italian flourished.
